My 2010 Christmas Wishlist:
1. A babysitter so I can go snowboarding with hubby.
2. A babysitter so I can go out to a real hair salon in NY to fix this atrocious haircut.
3. A babysitter so I can shop the after Christmas sales.
I vaguely remember what I wanted in previous years....seems like distant memories since motherhood, but it's not far from:
1. Purse
2. Bling
3. More bling
Well, at least my push gift involves bling, bling, bling, bling, bling, bling, bling, and MORE bling all around my wrist.

Better than Build-a-Bear
I didn't think I would have anything to blog about today because taking care of a newborn is a very mundane job. That is until my father-in-law stopped by to drop of my lunch and gifts for Owen. Owen IS a very lucky child...he is still receiving gifts and red pockets from his grand pa's customers. This 6 week old boy has received enough red pockets $$ to buy mommy a couple of fancy purses.....which hubby would kill me if I touched his funds. The gifts are usually misses, including or so I thought, this singing Dracula bear that came with today's batch of gifts.
I was about to put it along with his pile of "to donate"....because some gifts just don't make sense. Why would my son need a sweater for an 18-month-old?! Esp. by then it will be Summer!! So as I was about to bring this bear to his doom, Owen starts crying. This baby does not just cry, he cries blood curdling screams. My grand ma said tiger babies born during the day are fierce. Well, she is right about that cos he is a feisty one. This bear sings the cheesiest song, "Monster Mash", which cracks me up and works like a charm in quelling him. The first time I played it for him, I think it stunned him into silence while giving me the look of "wtf?!" LOL.

Fringe benefits
This will be Owen's first Christmas! I should be excited, but we've been so busy we did not have time to get a tree. My easy-way-out-plan was to ask my brother-in-law to get a tree and celebrate at their house. It doesn't get easier than that....until he and his girlfriend showed up at our door with a tree last night!! They went through the trouble just so Owen can have a real first Christmas. I was actually touched by their sweet gesture because it was so unexpected. Owen is soooo lucky. Even though the tree is for Owen, I'm enjoying the fringe benefits as his mom. You'd think the special treatment ends after I popped the baby out, but it is only the beginning! HeeHee
This tree smells so good. Now I have to step it up and get it decorated by the 24th with presents underneath.

Hormonal effect
Two weeks before giving birth, I bit my tongue eating frosted flakes cereal. I had to wait a month before I could leave the house due to Chinese traditions to see an oral surgeon. In the meantime, the blister festered into this....
This tongue tumor morphed into the size of a pencil top eraser, maybe bigger. The doctor said it was most likely due to pregnancy hormones that triggered this rapid growth. Damn, the pain a mother goes through, as if an episiotomy wasn't bad enough...now I have to get my tongue stitched up too.
Hubby to the rescue....
My tongue still hurts...*hint hint*
